CRA Administrator


M. Helen Gibson serves as CRA Executive Director, assisting in Mayoral and citizen-led efforts to strengthen, enhance and beautify Pensacola’s neighborhoods. She administers the PNC matching Neighborhood Grant Program, the City’s Neighborhood Academy and participates on the State Planning Committee for the Annual Florida Neighborhoods Conference.

A native of New York, Helen earned her Master of Regional Planning Degree from Cornell University. She received her Bachelor of Arts with a double major in Economics and Urban Studies from Fordham University. Prior to relocating to Pensacola, Helen undertook Planning and Community Development with the City of Ithaca, N.Y.

A City Planner certified by the American Institute of Certified Planners, Mrs. Gibson previously served as Assistant Director to the City of Pensacola’s Community Redevelopment Agency. She served as a member of Pensacola’s Neighborhood Enhancement team and has nearly 15 years of experience working with Pensacola’s neighborhood residents and stakeholders.

Helen has been responsible for the development of neighborhood plans, designation of the Westside Community Redevelopment and Eastside Urban Infill Redevelopment Districts as well as implementing the World Changers Volunteer program to repair the homes of dozens of Pensacola city residents.
