Mark Faulkner is president and chief executive officer of Baptist Health Care (BHC), a three-hospital integrated health care system situated in Northwest Florida and South Alabama and employing more than 6,400 people.
Mark Faulkner has more than 23 years of health care leadership experience and has been with the system since 1993 when he joined Baptist as an administrative resident. He has previously served as administrator of Jay Hospital, president of Baptist Hospital, and senior vice president and chief operating officer of Baptist Health Care.
Mark is past-chairman of the Florida Hospital Association Board of Trustees. He was honored by The Greater Pensacola Area Chamber of Commerce as a 2013 Pensacola Area Commitment to Excellence (PACE) Award recipient for Business Leader of the Year. He was recognized by the American College of Health Care Executives as the Young Executive of the Year in 2002.
During Mark’s various leadership roles, BHC has earned many accolades such as FORTUNE Magazine’s “100 Best Companies to Work For;” Truven’s Top 100 Hospitals, Becker’s “100 Integrated Health Systems to Know” and “150 Great Places to Work;” Training Magazine’s “Top 125,” and Independent News’ “Best of the Coast,” and also some of the highest recognitions in the health care industry including the Press Ganey Preceptor Award and the coveted Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award.
Mark Faulkner earned his master’s degree in health administration from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and his bachelor’s degree from the University of Alabama.
He grew up in Northwest Florida where he currently resides with his wife, Olympia, and two children, Sarah and Sam
