Join us for an update on the current projects in Pensacola. Developments discussed include:This chat will feature a presentation of a proposed multi-purpose facility to replace the Pensacola Bay Center. This facility would be a roughly 130,000 square foot complex with an event area, sports hall, conference space, and meeting rooms.

Presenter:
Ray Palmer
Pensacola Sports

Ray is the President and CEO of Pensacola Sports. He joined the Pensacola Sports Association (now Pensacola Sports) in March of 2002 as the Executive Director. Since Ray’s arrival Pensacola Sports has taken on unprecedented growth and contributions to the community through event management, sports tourism promotion, and its foundation. Events include the high school all-star series, flag football championships, numerous runs, marathons, triathlons, bicycle races, collegiate national championships, and annual awards and scholarships banquets to name a few.

He is a lifelong Pensacolian with family ties to the area going back several generations. He has been married for 36 years to his wife Susan, another lifelong Pensacolian. Together they have three sons, three daughters-in-law, and recently welcomed their first grandchild.

Ray has long been a servant to the community, having served on too many boards and having volunteered for too many causes to mention them all. Notably, he is a past president and Paul Harris Fellow of Five Flags Rotary, a recent recipient of the Florida Sports Leadership Award, and recently completed terms on the Board of Directors for the Florida Sports Foundation and Visit Pensacola.

Ray enjoys spending time with his family, particularly on the water. Not surprisingly, he is passionate about sports and is a tireless promoter of the Pensacola area to outside world.

The What’s Up! Chat Series is an educational program which connects our membership with local experts and community leaders in an informal setting. This format creates a unique opportunity for speaker and audience to understand an issue’s impact on commercial real estate and the community as a whole.
